What does it mean to be a living sacrifice? Is the Bible completely outdated in a modern world? These are only two of seemingly endless questions society asks, yet offers false answers to. The answer to the first lies in humility. We must die to self in order to live. God is clear that human nature leads to rebellion against what God has ordained as good. Since God doesn’t change, neither does His word and therefore, the Bible isn’t outdated. This article dives into being a living sacrifice for God and living life for the gratification of God’s calling over self gratification.
Everyone is pursuing something. A degree, a high end job, a ministry, a classy house, a brand new car. All these things have one thing in common: temporariness. If the pursuit of eternal happiness was found in temporal things, Jesus would not have to have been crucified. Ahh, a title that sums up the pursuit of the entire human race. Finding a true identity is the goal of every human from the moment they are born and follows them even to death. This article addresses finding true identity in Christ and removing yourself from the shadow of someone else's life.
The greatest desire for the Christian is to fulfill the calling that God has uniquely designed for them to fulfill. Finding what that calling is could take several years of prayer after being converted and following God's direction (as it was for me) or it could be revealed quickly. However, there are several who are not believers who are wondering what their calling is and if they even have one. With the Coronavirus, this particular predicament has struck the world with full force as a wake-up call that time is limited on this earth. This article will display John MacArthur's podcast entitled "Knowing God's Will."
It's hard to believe we are more than half way through the Attributes of God series already. This series has helped me to grow further in my walk with Christ and I hope it has been a similar ride for those reading and staying up to date on the series. It's truly amazing how much God allows His attributes to be studied, while not all the attributes are communicable. Without further ado, this post will cover the "N" attribute, "name above all names."
