This life is filled with a vast variety of blessings, setbacks, successes, and failures. Yet, in the wake of this, God tells us to consider it joy when we encounter various trials for the testing of the faith produces endurance. It can be difficult (often extremely difficult) in life's many deserts to hold on to faith. Like those whose names are Joy, being named Faith hasn't made maintaining faith easy. It is an ongoing sanctification process in that area. However, the temporal turbulence of this life will be for eternal spiritual gain for those who are in Christ. We live in a society that is fueled by sexual tension, propaganda, violence, and misery. Building a foundation will set the stage for their success . . . or their failure. Often times the foundation is neglected by parents and they are left to wonder why their children seek destructive paths in the future. Most of the time, the blame is on the parents. This article will cover five key reasons why praying for your children is of high importance and why it shouldn't be taken as a shallow task.
Independence Day. Almost every country has one. It is an anniversary, a reminder of liberation from slavery under tyranny. The U.S. was liberated on July 4, 1776---243 years ago. Starting as just 13 colonies off the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, America was founded on Christian principles with the intention to keep the government regulated to avoid too much control in any given area. This led to the establishment of the three branches of the capitalist government: judicial, executive, and legislative. However, instead of this year feeling like a celebration to mark the 243rd year of liberation from tyranny, this year of 2020 has felt as if America has lapsed back to before it was liberated.
In my last two articles in this mini-series, I covered the definition of prayer, its significance, and a historical/biblical example of the prophet Jeremiah on the power of prayer.
